Luke Littler targeting trophy clean sweep after World Cup of Darts triumph with Luke Humphries

Luke Littler is aiming for a clean sweep of every major trophy in darts after his World Cup triumph with Luke Humphries.

Top seeded Littler and Humphries secured their World Cup victory with a 10-5 win over Netherlands' Michael van Gerwen and Gian van Veen.

That came after their dramatic 8-7 win over Wales' Jonny Clayton and Nick Kenny in the quarter-finals and their 8-3 demolishing of Scotland's Gary Anderson and Cameron Menzies in the semi-finals.

The victory was a record-extending sixth for England in the World Cup, marking Humphries' second time lifting the trophy after his 2024 win with Michael Smith and Littler's first.

With World Cup glory now his, Littler currently holds the World Cup, World Darts Championship, World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, UK Open, Grand Slam, Premier League, Masters, and Players Championship Finals.

He will be defending his Matchplay, Grand Prix, Grand Slam, and Players Championship honours later this year, meaning the only trophy that has still eluded him is the European Championships.

Littler's first sights will be on the Matchplay and he knows if his game stays as it is, the clean sweep can be on the cards.

However, right now is all about enjoying the moment with the man who is normally his rival.

"Obviously for myself, I think I've got to look forward to the Matchplay," Littler said.

"All the talk now is, am I going to lift every major this year? If I keep playing the way I do, then yeah, I've got a brilliant chance.

"Tonight, it's not only my night, it is both of our nights together and we celebrate together."

While their rivalry will resume again in the next few weeks, Littler is certain they will be back in 2027 to defend their World Cup title.

"100 per cent. There's no point winning it and not coming back," he added.

"I think the first game against Spain was just nailing the coffin for ourselves. We know we can score, finish and obviously win together.

"We will be back next year."

While future trophies are in sight for both Littler and Humphries, their win in Frankfurt was all about redemption after they crashed out in the second round on their debut in 2025.

Indeed, Humphries believed that it was only a victory that would prove the doubters wrong.

"Michael van Gerwen was unbelievable today. He's back and he's playing unbelievable darts," Humphries said.

"We knew we had to take those chances. If you give this Dutch team a little bit of hope, they'll take it away from you.

"We played in that game how I think everyone expected us to play in every game.

"We were maybe a bit fortunate against Wales, but we ran with the luck that we got in that game and showed how well we could play as a team.

"We had a lot of doubters. People who didn't think we could play well as a team, and could only do solo, so I'm proud of us together.

"We worked hard and we won together."
